The Best Parks in Bangkok for Kids & Where We Go

Bangkok is famous for its vibrant streets and towering skyscrapers, but nestled within the city are peaceful green spaces where families can take a break from the urban rush. Here are some of the best parks in Bangkok for a fun day out with kids, and how you can easily reach them using public transportation.

1. Lumphini Park

Lumphini Park is one of Bangkok’s most iconic green spaces, offering plenty of shaded areas, playgrounds, and even a lake where families can rent paddle boats. Kids will love spotting the park’s famous monitor lizards! At Sprouts, we regularly take the children there, and if the weather isn’t great, we enjoy time at the children’s library instead (closed only on Mondays).

How to Get There:

  • BTS Skytrain: Silom Line to Sala Daeng Station
  • MRT Subway: Blue Line to Lumphini Station or Si Lom Station

2. Benjakitti Park

Benjakitti Park is another favorite spot for Sprouts children to explore and enjoy the outdoors, especially its fantastic new forest park extension. Located near Asoke, the park features a scenic lake with a dedicated cycling and walking path, making it a great place for kids to ride bikes or scooters. Families can also rent bicycles from Bangkok Forest Cycling , making it even easier to enjoy the park together.

How to Get There:

  • BTS Skytrain: Sukhumvit Line to Asok Station
  • MRT Subway: Blue Line to Queen Sirikit National Convention Center Station

3. Chatuchak Park

Located next to the famous Chatuchak Weekend Market, Chatuchak Park is one of Bangkok’s oldest and most popular public parks. It connects to two other green spaces: Queen Sirikit Park and Wachirabenchathat (Rot Fai) Park . Together, these parks offer botanical gardens, a butterfly house , cycling routes, playgrounds, and open spaces for recreation. You can even rent bicycles for the whole family and enjoy a leisurely ride through the park. They have a wonderful shaded track.

How to Get There:

  • BTS Skytrain: Sukhumvit Line to Mo Chit Station
  • MRT Subway: Blue Line to Chatuchak Park Station

4. Benjasiri Park

Situated next to EmQuartier shopping mall, Benjasiri Park is a compact but well-equipped park with two playgrounds, open green spaces, and a small pond where kids can watch turtles and fish.

How to Get There:

  • BTS Skytrain: Sukhumvit Line to Phrom Phong Station

5. Bang Kachao (Sri Nakhon Khuean Khan Park and Botanical Garden)

Often called Bangkok’s “Green Lung,” Bang Kachao is an oasis of nature just a short boat ride from the city. Families can explore lush gardens, bike along quiet trails, and relax by serene ponds. A highlight of Bang Kachao is the Get Growing Community Farm , a large, adventure-style natural playground where children can get muddy. This hands-on, family-friendly environment encourages curiosity, outdoor exploration, and learning about nature and farming.

How to Get There:

  • Take the BTS Skytrain to Bang Na Station
  • From there, take a taxi to the Khlong Toei Pier and catch a short boat ride across the river.
